Assist freshmen with the academic requirements and university life so they know that they have senior fellows whom they can ask for support and help, and develop skills that freshmen would like to excel at.
Goals
AAO Fellows are well-trained sophomore and junior students who work at NU AAO throughout the academic year to support students in their studies at NU.
We are here to connect students with the campus resources they need in order to be as successful as possible and become self-directed students.
AAO Tutors are experienced sophomore and junior students of different majors helping freshmen engage their active learning and develop critical thinking skills.
Tutors help students learn how to learn and find answers on their own. They also provide assistance with skills outside the course content to teach note-taking skills, reading strategies, and writing tips.
AAO Mentors are experienced sophomore and junior students of different majors who help freshmen to get acquainted with university life and feel better knowing that they have senior mentors whom they can always refer to and ask for help, as well as develop certain skills that mentees would like to excel at.
