The Academic Advising Office was established as an academic advising unit in May 2018 under the Office of the Registrar. In February 2021 it was formed as a separate division and renamed as the Academic advising office.

The AAO will provide accurate and quality academic advising, which enables students to explore their academic interests and acquire essential skills to make well-informed decisions to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal endeavors.

Our goal is to assist students to:

AAO Functions

  1. Help students understand their Degree requirements (major/minor)
  2. Help students schedule their courses for each semester so they can graduate in a timely manner
  3. Help students understand NU Policies and Procedures
  4. Let them aware of available resources and opportunities
  5. Assistance during the course registration period
  6. Assistance during transfer between Schools/majors
  7. Help students dealing with Academic Warning/Probation

<aside> <img src="/icons/groups_orange.svg" alt="/icons/groups_orange.svg" width="40px" /> Working with Students AAO primarily works with 1st and 2nd-year students of all majors and schools (SEDS, SMG, SSH, SoM), transfer students, 5th and 6th-year students.

Each advisor has ~300 advisees to consult and support throughout one academic year.
